World's Our Oyster at APT Gallery

19 - 29 Apr 2012

DESCRIPTION
The Worldfs Our Oyster features the work of a group of international artists - current and recent postgraduates from the Slade - many of whom are currently emerging to wide critical acclaim. This inaugural outing for the group, offers a site for reflection on their individual work and a dialogue between their collective practises. The showfs title takes an optimistic view of the future as its starting point. When it comes to the contemporary art-making - the worldfs our oyster. The artworks presented reflect a broad interpretation of that optimism ranging from challenges to the status quo to awkward acquiescence in the human condition. Some works could also be seen as tongue-in-cheek responses to our tumultuous global state.
